Steer Clear is what is called a Multiple Object Tracking (MOT) exercise. This improves your brain's ability to keep track of multiple objects at the same time, a critical skill to driving safely. Here's how it works:
-
You are shown a set of objects from the back of a truck. These are the objects you will be asked to track. Please follow these objects.
-
You are shown a set of distractor objects that look the same as the initial objects you were shown. These objects are there to make the exercise difficult. Do not follow these objects.
-
The objects move about, challenging you to keep track of the first set.
-
The objects stop moving and you are asked to click on the objects in the first set. If you click on the objects from the first set, they light up green and you may hear a "Ding" sound. If you click on the objects from the distractor set, they fly at the windshield and squish. The car may appear to slow at that point.
